Would it not have been greater had Hashem allowed Bilaam to actually curse and then transform the curses into blessings? Why did only Brachos come out of his mouth?
When you REALLY love someone it HURTS to hear bad things said about them. Hashem loves us so much that He [כביכול] couldn't even take hearing a negative word said about us!!
