The gemara [Kiddushin 40b] says that if a Tzadik rebelled at the end of his life - he loses all of his mitzvos. Asks the gemara - Why does he lose them ALL?/ Let him be 50-50? Half mitzvos-half aveiros [and the gemara answers that we are talking about someone who regretted his mitzvos and thus loses them].
What is the gemara's math? Why would a rebellious person be 50-50? How does someone magically become half meritorious-half sinful by rebelling?
