I once read about a study done that showed that the vast majority of employees felt that their employers didn't care about them.
Besides the altruistic reason that one should care for another person there is also a pragmatic one - people who feel cared for are going to do a much better job on behalf of those who care about them.
Unfortunately, I have met many people in Torah organizations who felt the same as people in the general population. Yeshivos sadly often turn into political battlegrounds, both internally and against other yeshivos. There is a lot of money involved, kavod, and other elements which don't always bring out the best in people, to say the least.
I hope and pray for the day where we all realize that we have one common goal, Kavod Shomayim, and we all work together to achieve that goal.
