Every wisdom or spiritual phenomenon in the world has a positive and negative side. The positive is when the phenomenon spreads its light to the world. The negative is when is can't tolerate other approaches and attitudes.
The deeper the wisdom, the more the positive side is accentuated and the negative side weakened until one reaches a point where the negative is completely nullified, because on the level of supreme wisdom there is room for ALL good.
The muddier the perception, the more the negative is brought to the fore and there is a small mindedness and narrow mindedness that can't allow for any other spiritual ideals and philosophies to exist.
But this narrow mindedness ultimately brings to a place where the phenomenon expands, grows and is elevated to the point that it is no longer narrow and appreciates that all expressions of valid spirituality have a place, as the pasuk says כל פעל ה' למענהו!! Everything Hashem made is for His [honor].
We all have spiritual inclinations and we should live according to them but at the same time never forget that there are many paths to Hashem.
בכל חכמה ובכל הופעה רוחנית שבעולם, יש בה צד חיוב וצד שלילה. הצד
החיוב הוא מה שנותן לאותה ההופעה את כל ציורה והתפשטותה, וצד השלילה הוא מה שאינו
מניח להופעה אחרת להתפשט במקומה. כל מה שתגדל הדעה, ככה מתגבר הצד החיובי והצד
השלילי מתחלש, עד שבמרומי הרוחניות אין שום צד שלילי כלל, כי הדעה העליונה הטהורה
מנחת היא ומכינה מקום לכל התפשטות של הופעה של מציאות הטוב, ומגדלת בחיובה את הכל.
וכל מה שההשגה היא עכורה, ככה מתגלה הצד השלילי ביותר, והעין נעשית צרה, ואינה
יכולה לסבול שום הופעה שנראה זרה לה. אבל צרות עין זו, מביאה לחץ גם בזו ההופעה
עצמה, הדורשת את הרחבתה, עד שהדבר בא לידי מדה זו, שההכרה מתעלה ודולגת על מצריה
הצרים, כדי שהיא עצמה תתרחב כראוי, ואומרת אחר כך: כל פעל ד' למענהו.
