People have certain thought, speech and behavioral patterns that don't change unless one has self awareness and then invests great effort into creating change.
I saw an interview with Donald Trump [with David Letterman, who today sports a loong beard of which any Sefardi Mekubal could be envious. He is a נואף of the first order, but GREAT beard!!] from 1987 where he sounded exactly like he does today. He spoke about how all of these other foreign countries are ripping us off and that we have to put a stop to it - a common theme until this very day. He lied [as he often does - but see forthcoming post on lying] when he said that he has "zero idea" how much money he has. C'mon. He even said at one point "you're not gonna get it [how much money I have] out of me" - meaning that he knows but won't divulge. He also attacked people he didn't like [such as the mayor at the time, Ed Koch] as being incompetent - while HE could certainly do a much better job. But - he said - he doesn't intend to run neither for mayor nor for President.
Given his strong pro-Israel stance - one may be quite happy he changed his mind...
Mussar Haskel - You want to be the same person you are today in 30 years from now? You probably will be. If you want to grow and change for the better it will take a LOT of hard work and sacrifice.
Big topic that we have addressed in the past and hope to do so in the future.
