The Gemara says that a בן סורר ומורה is נידון על שם סופו - judged because of what he WILL DO in the future.
The famous question: Rashi says in Parshas Vayera that Yishmael was saved because באשר הוא שם - At that time he was righteous, without regard for the future.
So which one is it? Are we judged based on future actions or not???
