When Hashem chooses Moshe to go and redeem the Jewish people from Egypt, he argues שלח נא ביד תשלח. What does this sentence mean?
The Rambam explains:
He is telling HASHEM that there is no person on earth who wouldn't be a better messenger than himself. ASTOUNDING!! On the entire planet - he is the LEAST worthy to be the redeemer and leader.
Let us contrast that with the election that is talking place in Israel and the Presidential campaign going on in the U.S. The candidates assert time and again that there is no person on the planet who is MORE worthy than themselves. They are TOPS!! This is a particularly presumptuous statement from people who have never been the leader before. "I don't have even five minutes of experience but I KNOW that I will be the BEST."
