A Zchus

I have been reading the memoirs of Golda Meir. She related that she didn't want to have a Jewish wedding and just wanted it done at City Hall [she was living in Milwaukee] even though she grew up in a religious home. She relented and had it done by a Rav after her mother guilted her to death about it. According to two other books written about her life - it would have been better had she not been halachically married to her first husband. וד"ל.

How sad that leaders who sacrificed so much for the Jewish people, strayed so far from observance on a personal level.

The "Zionist Dream" - because the founders were sleeping in their Yiddishkeit. But - Hashem chose THEM to be His messengers and we are experiencing an unprecedented flourishing in both the material and spiritual realms in Eretz Yisrael in no small part thanks to their sacrifice and hard work. [We can only have Torah if there is a material and military infrastructure].

כי לא ידח ממנו נדח.
