לרפואת יוכבד פייגע בת מיכל יהודית בתיה
Anti-Semitism is an important topic to keep in mind and to keep tabs on. But it is not Torah or our religion.
Taking the vaccine and wearing a mask are also important [as per most of the medical establishment w/ a lot of push back] but are not our entire religion.
The State/Land of Israel are important [the former being the subject of much debate which is not my topic]. But as central as it may be - living in Israel is but one mitzva of thousands. [Chazal say that living in Israel equals all the mitzvos but so are wearing Tzitzis, keeping Shabbos and Bris Milah].
Our religion and Torah are about HASHEM. G-d. The Ribbono Shel Olam. Not social justice, not tikkun olam, not Jewish pride or anything else. Hashem. To serve Hashem with dveykus, love and fear.
The highest expression of love to Hashem is [acc. to Chazal and the Rambam] is studying Torah. Kenockin' in lernin as they say ["they" being my Spanish speaking housekeeper].
There is so much verbiage about so many things today [even important things] that just distract us from the עיקרים - what is primary.
A boy in Ponovitch used to daven a reeeeeeeally loooooooooong שמונה עשרה. Once, the Mashgiach R' Chatzkel went up to him during davening and whispered in his ear as he was schuckling away. They asked him what he said. The boy said - He told me to remember that there is a G-d.
