Famous question: On Rosh Hashana we are being judged for life or death, so how come we don't mention our sins at all?? How can we not do Teshuva when our life lies in the balance??? Not only that - Rosh Hashana is part of עשרת ימי תשובה?? So how can we not do Teshuva??
We are saying: Hashem, of course we sinned. But we are not concerned with our fate. It is not about US. It is only about YOU. מלוך על כך העולם כולו בכבודך!!! Gehenom, Gan Eden, Kaf hakela. None of that matters now. All that matters is one thing - that the entire world recognize your Kingship. [This is consistent with our common theme of putting personal concerns aside for the sake of the greater good......].
There is NO greater Teshuva than that. If that is where we are holding, come Yom Kippur, our "Al Cheyts" will be GEZUNTE Al Cheyts!!!!
