The gemara concludes by saying that Talmidei Chachomim increase peace in the world. Why doesn't it say "Chachomim" increase peace in the world?

The answer is that if a person is humble and realizes he is only a student, a talmid, he will increase peace in the world. Otherwise  - he can destroy it with his arrogance.

A pet peeve of mine.....

People who think they know it all. Businessmen who think they are experts in chinuch [I have been lectured to by such heilige yidden:-)], bnei yeshiva who think they are experts in business, cabdrivers who think they can solve all the problems of the country if people would just listen to them, doctors who are great at surgery but also think they fully understand EVERYTHING. I have very acute internal radars for people who think they know it all and when activated I get the dweebies.

Even in a person's own field he doesn't know it all. My field is learning and education. I DON'T KNOW IT ALL!! I KNOW VERY LITTLE COMPARED TO WHAT THERE IS TO KNOW!!! I am not being modest.
