The pasuk forbids a מומר [the pasuk calls him a בן נכר] from eating the Korban Pesach. The Rambam understands the prohibition to be that one may not feed a מומר. Asked the Minchas Chinuch: What type of מומר are we discussing. A מומר לעבודה זרה or even a מומר לחלל שבת? The Rambam implies that it is specifically a מומר לעבודה זרה but a מומר לחלל שבת may eat the Korban Pesach. Rav Chaim Halevi [copied below] shows that the Rambam had a source in Chazal for this distinction.
But what is the סברא to make such a distinction?? A מומר לעבודה זרה is always the same as a מומר לחלל שבת so why here is there a distinction and we say that only a מומר לעבודה זרה may not be fed the Korban Pesach.
