One of the recent victims of corona was Allen Garfield who was a movie actor. His real name was Goorwitz [גורביץ] but he changed it. He might have been related to the Rosh Yeshiva of Gateshead who has the same name and other Talmidei Chochomim of note.
I often read of famous people, especially entertainers, who completely assimilated into the non-Jewish world. 99 times out of 100 they had multiple wives, the first usually Jewish, the following ones not. They produced a small number of children if any [Goorwitz had none], who often had serious problems [doubtlessly due to the fact that they grew up in unstable homes]. They themselves almost always had tragic lives, marked by drugs, alcohol, unstable relationships with countless sexual partners, serious health issues etc. etc. etc. They are never happy people. Only on screen they fake it...
It is sad when they are alive and much sadder when they die and can no longer fix their mistakes. The list of such people is extremely long and the thought that these people veered so far and left nothing for future generations but mindless often vulgar bad-excuse-for-entertainment is haunting.
