Read this and try to forget everything you already know about this Parsha:
Miriam and Aharon spoke against Moshe because of the Cushite woman he had taken [into his household as his wife] because he took a Cushite woman!”
They said, “Has Hashem spoken only through Moshe? Has [Hashem] not spoken through us as well?” Hashem heard it.
Now Moshe himself was very humble, more so than any other human being on earth.
Suddenly Hashem called to Moshe, Aaron, and Miriam, “Come out, you three, to the Tent of Meeting.” So the three of them went out.
Hashem came down in a pillar of cloud, stopped at the entrance of the Tent, and called out, “Aharon and Miriam!” The two of them came forward;
and [Hashem] said, “Hear these My words: When there will be prophets, Hashem, make Myself known to them in a vision, I speak with them in a dream.
Not so with My servant Moshe; he is trusted throughout My household.
With him I speak mouth to mouth, plainly and not in riddles, and he beholds the likeness of Hashem. How then did you not shrink from speaking against My servant Moses!”
And Hashem was incensed with them, and He departed.
As the cloud withdrew from the Tent, there was Miriam stricken with leprosy. When Aharon turned toward Miriam, he saw that she was stricken with leprosy.
And Aharon said to Moshe, “O my lord, account not to us the sin which we committed in our folly and our sin.
There are too many questions on this narrative to count. For THAT we are thankful we have Chazal and Meforshim to lead the way!!
