Continuing the thought from the previous post:
I once watched a panel of "Orthodox" feminists sharing their vision of the world as it should be and their authentic "daas Torah". The Rabba on the panel expressed her wish that Mir Yeshiva go coed so that women can learn on the same level as the men.
I found this thought intriguing. That is much less likely to happen than Joe Biden becoming a Satmar Chossid [featuring Dr. Jill shaving her hair off as per the Satmar custom], Warren Buffet running three triathlons a week and me dancing in the NYC Ballet. Leotard and all. And Michelle Obama doing hafrashas challah with 39 other women for the zchus of the refuah of Rav Moshe Hillel Hirsch, the RY of Slabodka [הרב משה הלל בן מינדל].
Much less likely.
That being said I have an eitza for this Rebbetzin Rabba. Buy a set of שערי חיים of Rav Chaim Shmuelevitz and learn through them. He was RY of the Mir and those are his MOST DELICIOUS shiurim. Who is stopping you?? If you really desire the Torah - GO FOR IT!!! If you can't understand the sefer on your own - I get it. Not easy. So hire someone to teach you. It is WORTH the money. Or buy the chiddushim of Rav Nachum Partzovitz, another Mirrer RY. His wife was Ettel, the daughter of Rav Chaim S. After Rav Chaim saw that Ettel wasn't up to taking his spot as RY after his passing, he made the shidduch w/ R' Nachum. It worked out GREAT!!! 😀👪. Or - she can listen to the great Rav Asher Arieli Shlita - who gives [in Mir] the most popular daily shiur in the world [putting aside Eli Stefansky's...But then again Rav Asher doesn't have props and humor that Reb Eli has. "Gooooooooood morrrninnnnng Miiiiirrrrrr Yeshiiiiivvaaaaaa"]. Maybe 1000 students. He actually married Malka - Rav Nachum's daughter. [The reason that I am not a RY is that I didn't marry a RY's daughter. My shver (father IL) was a doctor and in fact I have gone to the doctor numerous times since my marriage. But my shver retired. He now learns 24/7 in the greatest Yeshiva ever. ישיבה של מעלה. No lunch breaks or בין הזמנים there. LOVE it!!]. They are available in Hebrew and Yiddish on Kolhalashon. FREEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE of charge!!! And geshmak off the charts.
So put aside the feminist agendas and if you are really sincere in your desire to learn Mir Torah - you have the opportunity. The Rambam writes that Gemara study is not for MOST women - if you are the exception then you have the opportunity to pursue that path.
I have a sneaking suspicion. Sneaking but a suspicion. There is more than just a burning desire to learn Toras Hashem there. There is a conscious or subconscious desire to reform Judaism under the Orthodox guise. And THAT is dangerous and must be mocked as I tried to do in this post. People trying to undermine thousands of years of tradition from the inside are often much more insidious than people who do it from the outside.
