Tory, who is 68 and has been married for more than 40 years, confirmed to the Toronto Star that the relationship with the 31-year-old former staffer started when he was the woman's boss, and he called it a "serious error in judgment."
The Yetzer Hara says to you [to John and to all of us] "C'mon, I'll show you a GREAT time!!! Just follow me!!!" You look at what he has to offer and say "By golly, that really looks like a great time. Think of how HAPPY and EXCITED that will make me!!!"
Then the person follows it. That is what his instinct is telling him to do despite that soft, still voice in the recesses of his consciousness that is saying "STAY AWAY!!!! DANGER AHEAD".
But he ignores the voice b/c the "danger" seems like too much fun.
Then he destroys his life. At which point the Yetzer takes off his MASK and he sees the שטן himself!!! "הוא השטן הוא היצר הרע הוא מלאך המוות" [Bava Basra 16a].
Now John has to pick up the pieces of his marriage and will forever be remembered as the Mayor who stepped down b/c he slept with his employee [who was young enough to be his daughter].
