Watch What You Watch

An article in a frum publication written by a popular columnist started "I recently watched a clip of a group of American college students frolicking on a Florida beach during spring break. They were asked a number of questions ...." And the article continued to document how young people today don't read very much and are ignorant.

Point well taken.

But for crying out loud, how does a Charedi man watch a clip of young people "frolicking" on a Florida beach??? Like - "ולא תתורו אחרי לבבכם ואחרי עיניכם". Girls in bathing suits is off limits to male Jewish eyes. Totally and Biblically.

This is not about the columnist. It is about us. If a woman is not dressed properly or even if she is but her hair isn't covered [if she is married and Jewish - שער באשה says the Gemara, is ערוה] it is forbidden to look at her.

Full stop.

We are a holy people. Let's keep it that way!
