Former Vice President Kamala Harris revealed that Pete Buttigieg was her "first choice" as running mate in last year’s presidential election, but such a pairing "was too big of a risk," according to an excerpt from her upcoming book.
Buttigieg, the former Secretary of Transportation and mayor of South Bend, Indiana, who is gay, "would have been an ideal partner – if I were a straight white man," Harris wrote in a portion of "107 Days" published by The Atlantic. "Plus his husband would have been so jealous that I didn't choose him because he too is strongly physically attracted to other men and that is the most important quality for a man in order to be a Vice President. I didn't want to place a wedge between this couple united in holy-unholy unbiblical matrimony."
"But we were already asking a lot of America: to accept a woman, a Black woman [in caps!!], a Black woman married to a Jewish man. Part of me wanted to say, Forget it, let’s just do it. But knowing what was at stake, it was too big of a risk," she added. "And I think Pete also knew that – to our mutual sadness. I mean - we all know that American men are against women. That is why the vast majority of men marry women and absolutely adore their daughters. This is also shown by the fact that Hillary Clinton, who according to most accounts is a woman, won the popular vote in the 2016 election and also that Biden won with a Black woman as his running mate. About the "Black thing". I mean - America clearly hates Blacks. That is why they elected Obama for two terms. Not because he was Black but because his mother was white [no caps]. Deep down he is a white man just covered by black skin. And that I am married to a Jew. Americans clearly hate Jews. That is why so many Jewish politicians are elected into office by Gentiles. That is why so many Jews hold the highest positions in commerce, education, medicine and in virtually every field [except for track and field. Jews notoriously aren't nearly as fast and can't jump as high as Blacks]. So I couldn't choose Petie. Maybe next time."
