People have no respect for a *schnorrer* but have a lot more respect for a person with a suit and a tie and a title like *Director of Institutional Advancement* which, in Yinglish translation, is "schnorrer". So too a *President* of a University. A schnorrer with a PhD. Just instead of collecting dimes and quarters - he collects hundreds of million$.
But remember - an עני is your ticket to a good עולם הזה and עולם הבא.
Every human being deserves respect and a good word - ESPECIALLY those who need to ask for money.
