.... Receive a phone call and not know who is at the other end of the line. Then I have to sift through the hundreds and hundreds and hundreds of thousands of voices that I have heard in my lifetime and connect this particular voice to a specific name, requiring me to sift through the tens of thousands of names in my memory bank.
Somehow - I usually manage it within seconds, sometimes instantaneously.
And THAT sweet friends - is one of the WONDERS of creation. Make no mistake about it. מה רבו מעשיך השם. One little brain. So much memory.
But if you call someone it is a kindness to identify yourself unless you know that he/she knows that it is you....
