Make Space

"Remember the maxim that “our power to make a better choice lies in the space between a stimulus and our response.” Awareness of that space is the first step; then we can expand the space, and make a healthier choice. When you notice you’re being triggered, take a break to allow your physiology and nervous system to settle. Deep breathing, movement, and music can also shift your emotional state toward more calm."
