When I was younger, ethnic jokes were in. You could tell Jewish jokes, black people jokes, Polak jokes etc. No malicious intent. Just a good laugh. Jackie Mason made a living comparing and making fun of Jews and Gentiles and everyone had a great time. [This is w/o getting into the question if stand up comedy is in the category of מושב לצים which we are warned against in the very first chapter of Tehillim]. Today people are soooooo sensitive so ethnic humor is basically out [with exceptions]. Instead, much of what passes for humor today is vulgar and contains inappropriate language [and for many - like myself who tries to avoid it - isn't even funny].
Is that better?
I just saw a very funny ethnic joke that I want to tell but I CAN'T for fear of offending people even though I have no malicious intent.
So I won't tell the joke but will say that it is about a bike.
Ha.

So I say to all the [what they call in modern parlance] "snowflakes" out there who are hyper-sensitive - lighten up. Don't take yourself so seriously. Don't be so fragile. It's rough out there....
