Ehrman Called A Name - The Sequel

If you remember the recent post I told how a woman expressed offense at the Jewish male attitude towards women.

My second comment is that until I got caught up in my present activities in the US I had been reading the most "sexist" book I have ever put my hands on. It is called "Maseches Ksubos". It contains numerous decrees in favor of .... women and to the detriment of the man. Yes, "sexist" - against men, in favor of women. When I read this "book" I am taken aback by what lengths the Rabbis were willing to go in order to ensure the well being of women, 1500 years before the advent of women's lib.

So next time you here someone complaining about a woman's position in Judaism, hand them a Meseches Ksubos and tell them that you are willing to talk after they are done reading the whole thing:-).
