The שכר of sitting in the Succah is that in the future we will sit in the "סוכת עורו של לויתן" - the Succah of the skin of the Liviyasan fish. שכר מצוה couched in terms of a mitzva.
Explanation: When the ground swallowed up Korach, the children were swallowed up as well. Why? Explains the Maharal: It wasn't a punishment. Children don't get punished because they don't sin. It is a reality. If one is around מחלוקת - he GETS it. Bad. Lashon Ha-Maharal:
"המחלוקת היא גוף הגיהנום".
Machlokes IS gehenom [think about that next time you fight with your spouse]. Anyone in the vicinity gets incinerated.
מדה טובה מרובה - Good is always MUCH MUCH better than the bad. If מחלוקת is גיהנום then shalom is Gan Eden. Succah is called "סוכת שלום". Chazal also say that you can have a Succah that hosts ALL OF KLAL YISRAEL. כל ישראל ראויין לישב בסוכה אחת. Truly a Succah of peace. So this סוכת שלום will be our Gan Eden.
