2] Lesson 1: Be careful from whom you learn. If a person doesn't practice what he preaches he is dangerous.
3] Lesson 2: Without Hashem, philosophies and people go awry.
4] Lesson 3: We don't envy pure intellectual prowess if it is not accompanied by proper behavior. Many of the 48 ways to "acquire" Torah have NOTHING to do with the intellect even though learning would seem to be a purely intellectual experience. To truly acquire Torah, knowledge must go hand in hand with practice.
