I heard that Satmar spends 150 MILLION dollars a year on Bikkur Cholim, providing for patients and their families.
That is REMARKABLE - to say the least. It is superfluous to say that that the beneficiaries of their chesed are not limited to Satmar Chasidim. Even HARD-CORE Religious Zionists, Modern Orthodox, Lubavitchers and the whole spectrum of Jewish people benefit.
On the other hand, they speak disparagingly about and do things that negatively impact Eretz Yisrael. Such people aren't treated with kids gloves. Read Parshas Shelach. S-C-A-R-Y!!!!!
So what are they? Good guys or bad guys?
Good guys DEFINITELY!!! They will be duly rewarded for all of their chesed. אין הקב"ה מקפח שכר כל בריה. Even the nefarious איזבל was rewarded for dancing in front of Kallos [פרקי דרבי אליעזר י"ז].
If we are right in our support of Eretz Yisrael and in not fighting it [and that is the consensus of Gedolei Yisroel] - then they will be punished severely for anything they do against it [as the מרגלים were].
The lesson is that a person can be both great and horrible and it is the same person. That is the nature of the human animal.
We will do our best to be the most wonderful people we can be and LEAVE THE JUDGING UP TO HASHEM!!!!
