Similarly [诇讛讘讚讬诇] Rabbi Dulitz wasn't accepted to YU [either was I for the record. But I didn't apply]. In the end, one would be hard pressed to find another graduate who more exemplifies the notion of Torah Umadda than he [or "him". He would be able to correct the grammar....]. [One notable exception I can think of off hand is Rav Aharon Lichtenstein ztz"l who of course was in a class all by himself.] He had a very weak background in 诇讬诪讜讚讬 拽讜讚砖 and back then JSS didn't exist for kids like him, so they sent him packing. But he worked hard, persevered and achieved mountainfuls of success in learning and teaching Torah [and 诇讛讘讚讬诇 "Madda"] for about SEVEN DECADES.
Lesson: Don't let what others think of you or tell you about yourself stop you. You have a lot of latent abilities that nobody [including yourself] appreciates. Work hard and see where it gets you BS"D.
