We are told [Devarim 4-26] that when we sin, we are going to be exiled from the land ....
"אשר אתם עוברים את הירדן שמה לרשתה"
..... that we are passing over the Jordan to inherit.
But the Jews were also exiled from the OTHER side of the Jordan [east] that we didn't pass over. Namely - the two and a half tribes. גד, ראובן and half the tribe of מנשה. So why does the pasuk mention only the part of Eretz Yisrael that they had to pass over the Jordan in order to inherit and not the side on which the 2 and half tribes stayed?
Some thoughts here.
