Not Always A Happy Ending

Sarah hears about the Akeidah and dies from the shock [Chazal].

Is that fair?

Yes.

Why?

We don't know....

Lesson: Don't expect that every time you do what is right - AMAZING things are automatically going to result. That is for "The Maggid" story books but not for real life. Sometimes you will have that story book ending and sometimes - you won't. משפטי ה' אמת - when are the judgments of Hashem perceived correctly? צדקו יחדיו - When you see the whole picture. In this world - we DON'T!! [Rav Chaim elaborated in the Sichas Mussar].

Today a well known Rebbetzin from Yerushalayim was nifteres at the young age of 49 - leaving a husband [a Rosh Yeshiva] and eleven children, after a long bout with cancer.

Why?

We can't know. But we DO KNOW that א-ל אמונה ואין עוול צדיק וישר הוא.

I heard that she was in good spirits till the end. The family came to say goodbye. At one point they thought she was gone and were shaking her to check. She opened her eyes and said with humor - I'm still here. Not gone yet..... [That is approximately what I heard third hand. But you get the point].

May we ALWAYS keep our good humor, regardless.

ותשחק ליום אחרון.
