The gemara says חרשו נותן לו דמי כולו - If one harms someone by causing them to be deaf he has to pay his entire value [and not just the value of his sense of hearing]. Our ability to hear is HUUUUUGE. We use it every second of every day.
So if we have a bracha thanking Hashem for our sight [פוקח עורים] - why don't we have a bracha thanking Hashem for our ability to hear???
