The geulah will come when we fix our speech.
The Jewish people's task and calling in this world is to TESTIFY about Hashem as the pasuk says in Yeshayahu [43/12] אתם עדי ואני א-ל. This testimony must be VERBAL, as the gemara says "מפיהם ולא מפי כתבם" - Testimony must be verbal and not handwritten. The rule is that anything that is not spoken is also hidden from inside "דעת גניז בפומא דמלכא" - "Knowledge is stored in the mouth of the King". Or as it says in Mishle "כי ה' יתן חכמה מפיו דעת ותבונה" - "Hashem will give wisdom from his mouth, knowledge and understanding". As long as the Jewish people are not free to relate to relate the praises of Hashem, "עם זו יצרתי לי תהילתי יספרו" - "This nation I created for me, my praises they will relate" [Yeshayahu 43/21], the geulah will not come. This testifies that our vessels are to narrow to contain the true sublime spiritual truths. Therefore come the doubts and hesitations from which stem all of the spiritual downfalls and automatically also the physicality.
It will be different when our mouths are widened and will turn into rivers of honey and our mouths will be filled with Hashem's praise. Then we will fill our purpose of testifying about Hashem and the earth will be filled with knowledge of Hashem like water covers the seas "כמים לים מכסים".
Moshe Rabbeinu didn't want his speech impediment to be healed until the Jewish people were redeemed. That is why he said ואני ערל שפתיים - I am of uncircumcised lips. Why didn't he ask Hashem to heal him? Because Am Yisrael had not healed their speech and Moshe's realized that his power came from the people so it was not his time yet. It was only on the cusp of the entrance of the Jews into Israel that Moshe's speech was healed because entering Eretz Yisrael was a type of redemption. אלה הדברים אשר דיבר משה אל כל ישראל.
