About a half-hour into Wednesday night’s Democratic debate, Julián Castro was asked whether his health care plan would cover abortion.
“Yes, it would,” Castro said. “I don’t believe only in reproductive freedom. I believe in reproductive justice.”
Standard fare for a Democratic candidate. But then he continued.
“And, you know, what that means is that just because a woman — or let’s also not forget someone in the trans community, a trans female — is poor, doesn’t mean they shouldn’t have the right to exercise that right to choose. And so I absolutely would cover the right to have an abortion.”
THAT is a classic. A trans female is a guy wearing lipstick. I, too, would pay for any poor guy who found himself pregnant to have an abortion. It just has never happened since the beginning of time - nor will it ever in the future.
His campaign manager said it was a misspeak and he meant trans males [i.e. a woman who insists she is a man - who should be TOTALLY freaked out when s/he finds him/herself pregnant].
And BTW - When he said "I absolutely would cover the right to have an abortion", what he really meant was that I would force YOU the taxpayer to pay for him to kill the innocent fetus. But that doesn't sound so sweet, so he instead made it as if HE is the savior of the right to choose and promoter of justice. If we would ask the fetus, I think it would choose not to be crushed to death. But who's asking.... Fetuses don't vote in the elections.
