Knowing Shas?

A Talmid once asked Rav Chaim Shmuelevitz how to know Shas. Rav Chaim was shaken by the question. 

He responded "וויסן ש"ס דארפסטו? קריינקעוין אויפן ש"ס דארפסטו" - "You want to know Shas? You have to get SICK over Shas."
