On Shabbos, I answered the Chazan's ברכו in the middle of פסוקי דזמרא, fully intending to continue my פס"ד afterwards. But then, with my mouth in high gear and my brain in the "sleep" mode, I said ברוך אתה ה' א-להינו מלך העולם יוצר אור ובורא חושך WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOPSSSSSSSSSS!!!
What do I do now? Continue on? Go back? Can I say פס"ד later?
Fortunately, given the amount of literature on this question, it is clear that I am not the first. My rabbi is Orthodox and doesn't answer whatsapp shylos on Shabbos morning.
I cordoned off a section of the shul and placed myself in a makeshift penalty box until after Shachris as a punishment.
What about פסוקי דזמרא?? Ahhhhh - that is for my tell-all autobiography I am presently writing. Right now I took a break b/c I busy am working on my honorary doctorate. A "Doctor of Humane Letters" b/c I believe that letters would be better off if they were a little bit more humane. Then they wouldn't be used for so much Lashon Hara.
