The way ideological arguments often work is that one side presents themselves in a positive light b/c they promote certain values as if the other side doesn't believe in the same values and just believes you achieve them with different policies. For example - the Left presents themselves as being loving and compassionate while the people on the Right [or at least their policies] are cruel and unfeeling [it works in the other direction as well]. This is patently false. People on the Right also care about black people and poor people etc. etc. but just believe that policies such as affirmative action and throwing money at them is not helpful.
Here is an ad I saw:

בכל פעם שאנחנו שומעים את ----- מדבר בשם הציונות הדתית על מלחמות נצח, על המשך הפקרת החטופים, על שליחת עוד לוחמים לחזית, על גירוש, אנחנו מרגישים צורך לומר בקול ברור - זאת לא הציונות הדתית שלנו.
אנחנו מאמינים ביהדות שמקדשת חיים, שאומרת כן לפדיון שבויים, כן להשבת החיילים הביתה בשלום, כן לביטחון, כן להסכמים מדיניים, כן לחיים - לכל מי שנברא בצלם אלוקים.
הגיע הזמן להגביר את הקול שלנו.
צרפו את שמכם לקריאה - אנו, בני ובנות הציונות הדתית, אומרים כן לסיום המלחמה, כן לשחרור החטופים ולא למלחמות נצח.
So [goes their implied assertion] if you are against making *peace* and a cease fire with Hamas then you don't believe in the sanctity of life, don't care about the hostages, don't care about national security, don't value life, don't care about our soldiers and don't believe that man was created in the image of G-d.
The reality of course is that people who don't want to make *peace* with Hamas believe in every one of the above mentioned values but don't trust that any good will come out of that. Only more Jewish blood that will be spilled רח"ל.
