Is earth spiritual? Do trees have a soul?

Come again?

You heard me right. Is EARTH a ruchani entity.

Of course not! People are ruchani - not earth or trees.

Think again. Every day we say הריעו לה' כל הארץ - All of the EARTH will praise Hashem. Or from our Firday night liturgy אז ירננו כל עצי היער מפני ה' כי בא לשפוט הארץ - All of the trees of the forest will sing the praise of Hashem when He comes to judge the earth.

The mekubalim [ the "Mei Marom" and others] learn from here that indeed that earth and trees are VERY spiritual beings. If we would have eyes we would even see it... At the end of days we will see and experience the spiritual granduer that is latent in every blade of grass.

With this in mind the "sin" of the earth mentioned in parshas breishis and the fact that man was created from earth take on new meaning...
