Connecting To Reality

Imagination. How hard it is to fulfill imagination. Before a boy or girl stands under the chuppah he has FANTASIES about what the other person is like and what marriage will be like. These fantasies will inevitably prove to be false to his/her great disappointment. There is NO PERSON with whom it is always exciting to be with [maybe there are exceptions....]. EVERYBODY has parts of their personality that are not well developed. EVERYBODY has inadequacies and lots of them.

Marriage ALWAYS has a whole batch of surprises. Kids don't ALWAYS turn out exactly the way we expected them to. Finances ALWAYS seem to complicate matters. Health always finds a way to make life more of a challenge. The only way to remain completely healthy always is to die quick and young - CHAS VI-SHALOM.

Creating a more realistic picture of life can go a long way in helping us deal with it's contingencies.
