There is no person or community that is perfect. There are faults with everyone. We reserve "perfection" for the Creator. We are all eminently fallible.
One mark of a person or community's character is their ability to admit fault and take means to seek out the roots of the fault and thereby correct it.
The human inclination to deflect criticism is a lamentable one and should have no place in the life of a Torah Jew. One of the 48 Kinyanei Torah [which we work on during these days of Sefiras Ha-Omer] is "אוהב את תוכחות" - Loving rebuke. It is sad when people try who reveal and basic flaw expend energy on showing that others have the same flaw or that it is not really a flaw etc. etc.
I will not go into detail and be more specific. The basic message should be enough. It would heal marriages, relationships in general and communities.
