Living In Two Worlds

My-se She-haya: A very Choshuve Yid extended his hand in order to shake hands with someone else. He was told that due to Corona it is not advisable to shake hands. He responded that he is more afraid to shake hands with someone who uses the Internet. Corona doesn't scare him.

The world we inhabit is both a physical world and a spiritual world. Two worlds. Cancer is cancer and lashon hara is cancer. A virus is a virus and bad middos are a virus. [I would rather have a physical virus]. The spiritual world is no less real than the physical world. It is actually MORE real. MUCH MORE!!!! We just don't see it.

On the other hand, this doesn't negate the fact that the physical world is also a reality. Not honoring parents can cause early death but so can smoking. One can die early for violating Shabbos but can also die early for driving while intoxicated. Hashem's will is expressed in the Torah and Hashem's will is expressed in nature.

The Internet is indeed a great danger. ורבים חללים הפילה. How many people have fallen so law, how many marriages have broken up, how many people have gone off the derech due to the Internet!!! SCARRRRYYYY!!! A real, concrete danger. No denying that. Ask Rabbonim who serve in Batei Dinim how many family problems they deal with that are a result of inappropriate Internet use.

But being lax abt. one's health is also dangerous.

This Choshuve Yid died of .... Corona.

זכר צדיק לברכה.
