Respecting Differing Opinions

There is a lot of patronizing condescension from the Charedi community towards the Dati Leumi community and vice versa.

Example: Well known politician called the Charedim "תינוקות שנשבו" b/c they don't serve in the army. He doesn't know one daf gemara properly but he understands Torah better than every Gadol Bi-Yisrael in the last 80 years. Or so he thinks.

This is unfortunate. Both communities are filled with their own chesronos that they should be busy fixing and not have the time and energy to be busy criticizing others. This is especially because putting the other side down doesn't make them any better [although it makes your side feel superior]. There is also LOADS that each community can learn from the other. But that is generally not the attitude.

איזהו חכם הלומד מכל אדם has become all but obsolete.

The Charedim are not going to the army. Period. Right or wrong they believe it is against רצון השם and that it would destroy the entire society they have been trying to create for decades. Forcibly conscripting them would be a disaster for all.

The Dati Leumi world does not want to continue the life of Eastern Europe. Period. They are modern and believe that this tekufah requires new forms of education, dress, army service, language etc.

Who is right???????

I know FOR SURE.

NO DOUBT IN MY MIND!!!

Nuuuuuuuuuuu???

OK, I will tell you.

It is an open pasuk [Dvarim 1-17]:

כי המשפט לאלהים הוא

G-d knows. Period.

In the meantime, unless you happen to be Hashem, respect people who are intelligent and think differently than you.
