אע"פ שהטעות בדברים האלהיים היא דבר מזיק עד מאד, מ"מ אין עיקר ההיזק הנמשך מהמושגים המשובשים יוצא אל הפועל, עד כדי להמית את בעליו מיתת נשמה, רק כשהוא מתגלם במעשים או לפחות כשהוא יורד לתוך דעות ורגשות כאלה, שסופן מוכרח להתגלות במעשים.
Although a mistake in comprehending Divine matters causes much damage, the essence of the damage that results from distorted concepts is not actualized to the point of killing a person’s soul—unless it coalesces into actions, or at least descends to form viewpoints and feelings that in the end will necessarily grow manifest in actions.
אבל כ"ז שהדבר עומד בצורתו המופשטת, אין כאן עקירה עקרית.

באמונות הנוטות מכלל התורה, כמו האמונה הנוצרית והמחמדנית, אין עיקר הארס מונח במושג האלהות שלהם, שהוא שונה ממה שהוא נכון להיות ע"פ יסוד אורה של תורה, כ"א במה שיוצא מזה הריסת המצות המעשיות, וביטול תקות האומה ביחש לתחייתה השלמה.
