Bittul Bi-rov

לע"נ מרת חנה בת ר' יצחק יונה

The sefer זכר לדבר [at the end of סימן ז] asked: If you have an Esrog that is not a מורכב [hybrid and thus possibly פסול] that was mixed in with 2 Esrogim that are מורכבים  - can you take all three and be yotzei? On one hand you are definitely taking the kosher one. One the other hand - maybe it is בטל ברוב?

The question is - How do we view ביטול ברוב - Is it just regarding דיני איסור והיתר and טומאה וטהרה that an item that was tamei or assur that was mixed in with a majority of tahor or permitted items adopts their status, in which case you could take all three and be yotzei ממה נפשך. Or do we say that there is ביטול במציאות and we view the non-מורכב as if it were now מורכב because it was mixed in with a majority of מורכבים?

Rav Yosef Engel asks [Beis Ha-otzar 1/18] what the din is if one took a שבועה to eat a loaf of bread and it was mixed in with two other loafs - must one eat all three or do we say that במציאות it is nullified and it is not necessary to eat all three?
