Cyrus Mistry, an Indian-born Irish businessman and former chairman of Indian conglomerate Tata Sons ["Tata" or "sons". Make up your mind. Can't be both], lost approximately ten billion dollars on Sunday [!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!].
How do he lose so much money? Stock market? Gambling? Filling up his tank with gas? Buying groceries? [Craaazzzyy inflation!!!!!!]
None of the above. He died in an accident on Sunday after his
car crashed into a road divider in western India, police said. He was
54. A moment before his death he had about 10 billion dollars. A moment later he was bereft of every last penny. Talk about an economic downturn!!!!
The crash occurred on a river bridge in Maharashtra state’s Palghar
district near Mumbai, police officer Prakash Gaekwad told reporters.Maharashtra is an Indian pronunciation/corruption of מהר"ש and the bridge was named after the fourth Lubavitcher Rebbe. Prakash was asked how he got such a name and answered that before you ask me about "Prakash" ask me about "Gaekwad".
He was named "Cyrus" b/c his parents hoped that he would authorize the building of the third Beis Hamikdash. Unfortunately, this never materialized.
He is survived by his wife and two sons. המקום ינחם אותם בתוך שאר אבלי ציון וירושלים and they should use their inheritance wisely. In India they are known burn widows - alive. רח"ל. My fervent hope is that they spare this rich rebbetzin.
India's Prime Minister [I won't write his name b/c I have had it today with Indian names] released the following statement to the media: "והחי יתן אל לבו. Nobody lives forever and we all must 'chap a rein' and do as many mitzvos and maasim tovim as we can while we are given the gift of life. Money is הבל הבלים. Look at how he lost it all in one second. All he takes with him is the money he GAVE TO TZDAKA!!! Burial shrouds have no pockets."
At his funeral, his friends were "Misty"eyed.
