From Joe Biden's inspiring speech in Tel Aviv:
"I want the people of Israel to know that we have your backs! America is behind you. The acts of terror perpetrated by Hamas are unforgivable. We are sending Israel weapons in order to help protect yourselves against your enemies.
On the other hand we want this to be a fair fight. I mean is it fair to only help your team?? In that light you will understand that we are also sending one hundred million dollars of aid [over four hundred million shekels, to make this clear to Israelis] to your enemy. Hey, we are already 33 trillion dollars in the hole - so what's another hundred mil! They can use the money for food or other basic human needs or to buy more weapons. We trust that the Palestinians will only use the money for items they deem important, as they always do. Every single dollar will go to helping people who want nothing more than your destruction and will insure that this conflict continue ad infinitum.
We are also not demanding that they free the hostages - including the American ones. That would not be fair. We want to give with no strings attached. Our hearts go out to the hostages and their families but war is war.
As for me - I am getting out of the region. I mean, hey man, [very bad word], it's DANGEROUS here. I am too old for this. Just the sirens can give me a heart attack. I want to get re-elected. This whole war has hurt my chances of re-election as it is. A heart attack and possible death would completely crush them.
