1. Loves to quote Tanach - but very selectively and only when it suits his purposes. So all the psukim about fighting wars, being brave, Israel belonging to the people of Israel etc. etc. work for him. The psukim about keeping Shabbos, learning Torah, loving Hashem, fearing Hashem, keeping all of the mitzvos - don't. So he never quotes them. He also never [or almost never] quotes Chazal. That is the way of the Zionsits who built the State. Judaism skipped from Tanach to today. [Ben Gurion wrote at the beginning of the Proclamation of Independence that the Jewish people were born in Israel. REALLY???? He wasn't that ignorant. He was just a revisionist historian to suit his needs]. He once said that some people's sense of history goes back no further than breakfast [i.e. many, many secular left wing Israelis, nebuch]. He HAS a sense of history but a very selective one.
2. Talks endlessly about his power, the power of the army, the power of the Israeli people. Then he throws in a "b'ezrat Hashem". Does he really believe that? If he does it is 99.999 us and 00.001 percent Hashem. And if there is a Hashem whose help we need - shouldn't we have the respect for Him not to eat food He forbade us and avoid labor on the Shabbos He gave us?
3. Great speaker in English and Hebrew. I wish I had the command of the English language that he has!! He really presents Israel's case very well on the international stage.
4. He is the most attacked human being on earth. More people hate him than hate the Hamas or other terrorists. Even half or so of his own country despises him. The legal establishment has been after him for years trying to get him behind bars. He has the most highly pressured job on the planet. And despite everything he tirelessly [do you ever see him yawn or nod off?? He is not young...] does his job day in and day out [whatever his motivations... probably a mix of faith, a desire to do good, passion, idealism, ego and love for power - but that is just a guess] while projecting strength, dignity and calm - on very very little sleep I am sure. WOW!! Despite my criticisms - כל הכבוד!! I couldn't do what he does for ten minutes.
5. Flawed? Yes. We all are. Do we want מלך המשיח? Definitely!! But in the meantime Hashem chose HIM to lead. And I believe that he deserves much gratitude for all of his hard work [while not ignoring the serious critiques and the tremendous צער we should feel that the State of the Jews is not really a Jewish State when it's laws and leaders completely disregard tradition].
