The Rambam says [Teshuva 7-3] that Tshuva is not only for bad deeds but also for bad middos.
There is a מצוה מדאורייתא to have good middos from the pasuk והלכת בדרכיו. So what is the הוה אמינא that one need not do Tshuva for not fulfilling that mitzva?? Why should it be different than any other מצוה?
