Everybody heard about the new Jerusalem train. There was recently unfortunately an accident where the train veered from the tracks. The conductor was interviewed and asked what happened. He said "There was a cow on the tracks".

So why didn't you just run him over, he was asked.

"I tried but he ran into the forest."

Sweetest friends, the gemara says that Rabbah would open his shiur with a מילתא דבדיחותא - a joke. This opens up the hearts of the students and makes their Rebbe's teachings more palatable. Let us restore this lost practice. At mevakesh - we are doing our best:-).
