The Wine Of Purim

Purim is the revelation of the sanctity of the Jewish BODY - קדושת הגוף הישראלי. We witnessed the salvation of the physical Jewish bodies and the fulfillment of the promise לא מאסתים ולא געלתים לכלותם וכו - Hashem promised not to destroy the Jewish people ... ever!

The Pasuk says in Shir Hashirim הביאני אל בית היין - Bring me to the house of wine. Rashi explains that this pasuk refers to Har Sinai. [Rav Shmuel Rozovsky, the famed Rosh Yeshiva in Ponovitch, explained that just as one just enters a winery, he is already partially intoxicated from the sharp scent of the wine, so too when one enters a yeshiva, he should already be partially intoxicated from the sight and sound of all of the men learning]. Rashi intends to say that wine is a mashal. Har Sinai is compared to a winery, because one should be drunk with Torah [if you have never experienced this before - learn with me a little bit and you will see what I mean. Right now I am drinking nothing alcoholic, just a cup of tea, and I am partially intoxicated just writing this.... It helps that I am listening to a crrrrazzzy song. מלכותך מלכות כל עולמים וממשלתך בכללללל דור ודור].

That is all in the context of Har Sinai. But on Purim, when we had a physical salvation and our bodies were preserved forever, the wine of kabbalas hatorah [הדור קבלוה בימי אחשורוש] of Purim is not a mashal but literal.

We put the entire miracle and the subsequent kabbalas hatorah in the משתה היין of Purim. The Purim story revolves around wine parties [Achashveirosh's big party, Esther's little parties] so when we celebrate Purim we concentrate all of our physical salvation in the physical משתה היין [see Rashi Megillas Esther 9/28].

LI-CHAIMMMM!!!!!:-):-)
