Davey Johnson [presumably named after a Jewish king!!], former manager of the Mets, who was zocheh to be mesameach so many Jews [and lots of Goyim too!:-)] in 1986, when he led the Mets to a World Series victory, has passed away. When he got to Shomayim who came to meet him? Bill Buckner, of course. Bill thanked him b/c he was spared from Gehenom for all the bizyonos he suffered after the ball went through his legs! [If you look closely, you can see Davey celebrating in the video below].
Watching videos of him are so impressive. He would chew his gum with such authority. A real Alpha male!!
What can we say בשבחו [w/o being עובר on לא תחנם]?: He NEVER spoke during חזרת הש"ץ or קריאת התורה! He never dipped his matza in his soup on Pesach, obviously makpid on gebrochts! He never forgot Yaale Viyavo in Shmone Esrei! He NEVER ONCE said a ברכה לבטלה!!
