WOODMERE NY — A thoughtful husband is being recognized for purposely doing numerous things wrong because he knows how much his wife loves nagging.
Moishe Rhein is always thinking of his wife, Ruchi, and trying to come up with ways to be mechabed her and make her day better. After six years of trying to serve his wife's every desire, he slowly realized that what she really wants is to nag her husband to death.
"At first, I tried to do acts of service with excellence," said Moishe. "I would always pick up my socks and hang up my used bath towels. I would fold laundry like it's on sale at a department store. I would cook gourmet dinners. I would be very attentive with the children. But what I came to realize is that she didn't want any of that. What she really wants is for me to do those things poorly, so she can nag me about all the things I do wrong."
"I *forget* to pick things up from the cleaners on my way home from work. I left our little Yitzi at the park after dark two weeks ago. I come home late from my chavrusa. I stopped singing the zmiros she likes so much at the Shabbos table. In fact, I'm starting to run out of ideas of things I can mess up to give her something to nag about. I need to get creative. My wife has never been happier and shalom bayis has never been better."
"Oh, Moishe is just the worst," said Ruchi to reporters. "He always messes up everything, and I just love — I mean, I hate it."
At publishing time, Moishe suggested with a twinkle in his eye to his wife that they should go on vacation, and that he would arrange EVERYTHING.
